SPRING BARLEY |
|
Spring barley is sown between February and End March. It will appear similar to winter barley in colour and texture but will typically be around 3 weeks later in maturing. This means that spring sown cereal crops are usually available for gliders until late May before becoming too tall for landing. |

Spring barley fields will appear as light green colour. Now too tall for safe landing but the spring cereal crop varies greatly this year in its growth stage due to delayed drilling in the spring in some areas of the country so check the depth of the crop before committing yourself. |

The right hand image is too tall for landing but the left hand image is probably OK. |

The right hand image is almost too tall for landing but the left hand image is almost certainly OK. |
